GUIDE
Our collections offer a wide variety of sizes, from the length of studs to the diameter of hoops, to ensure a perfect fit for every type of piercing and anatomical area.
Bar
length
How to find the perfect size!
BAR LENGTH, STUD, OR CURVED BARBELL
GAUGE
The correct length is the internal measurement, meaning only the actual length of the bar without including the ball, flat back, or threading (for externally threaded pieces).
This is the part that will actually fit inside the piercing.
Available lengths range from 6 mm to 12 mm.
This depends on the thickness of the area, the type of piercing, and how it was pierced.
The more healed and stable the piercing, the shorter the bar length can usually be.
If the piercing is fresh, a slightly longer bar might be needed to accommodate any residual swelling and to allow for a little breathing room.
Ring
diameter
The ring size, or its diameter, is determined by measuring the inner part of the ring.
The size of the ring will depend on the anatomy of the area, the type of piercing, and how the piercing was done.
Certain areas, like ear piercings, can accommodate smaller diameter rings if the piercings are well-healed and stable.
Larger diameters can be worn on the lobes or used for a desired visual effect, such as creating graphic designs with different ring sizes.
The available sizes include: 6 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm, 14 mm, and 16 mm.
GAUGE
GUIDE
The gauge of the jewelry refers to how thick the post is, determining whether it is thin or thick.
The gauge varies based on the type of piercing.
Some piercings require a 1.6 mm gauge for technical reasons, others use 1.2 mm, while certain piercings like nostrils, due to their placement, can use gauges as thin as 1 mm or even 0.8 mm.
1.2 mm gauge (16 Gauge): This is the most common thickness used for almost all piercings, whether for hoops or bars.
1.6 mm gauge (14 Gauge): This thickness is used for body piercings that are more likely to migrate over time, including microdermal and surface piercings.
1 mm / 0.8 mm gauge: These are the thinnest gauges, typically used for nostrils or occasionally for well-healed and stable ear cartilage piercings.
Microdermal and Surface: 1.6 mm
Fresh piercings, being new wounds, can show some inflammation and therefore swelling.
The initial size of the jewelry is slightly longer to accommodate this.
After the first month for certain piercings, and after 10-15 days for tongue and labret piercings, the jewelry can be changed to a shorter piece to better fit the area and avoid any issues.
In our showroom, the jewelry change will be free of charge.
